GLOBAL WARMING- Basic ideas

Now-a-days, you will come across a word "GLOBAL WARMING" very frequently. My aim is to give you some basic ideas about-
1) What it is,
2) What causes Global warming?
3) How it affects our planet,
And 4) the possible remedies,

"GLOBAL WARMING"- the word is defined as the increase of our mother Earth's near surface air and oceans from the origin of the Earth and its protracted life. In common usage the term refers to recent warming and implies a human influence
Scientists have discovered that mother Earth’s average air temperature increased 0.74 ± 0.19° C (1.33 ± 0.32°F) during the last 100 years. Over the past 50 years the average global temperature has increased at the fastest rate in recorded history. And experts think the trend is accelerating: the 10 hottest years on record have all occurred since 1990.
The United Nation’s Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) uses the term "climate change" for human-caused change, and "climate variability" for other changes.

CAUSE of GLOBAL WARMING- Earth's climate changes in response to external forcing, including variations in its orbit around the sun, volcanic eruptions, and atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations. The greenhouse gases are mostly Water vapor (36-70%), Carbon-di- oxide (9-26%), Ozone (3-7%), Carbon Monoxide, Methane, CFC etc. These Greenhouse gases are continuously rising mainly due to burning of fuels, changes in the land-water uses. Even the deodorants we use are also a source of CFC.
Detailed causes of recent warming are continuously searched and identified. There is also opinion that Global Warming may be due to increase of Earth’s mean temperature, increased solar activity.
HOW IT AFFECTS OUR PLANET- Global Warming already causing extensive damage to our planet. In 2002 alone US faced its extreme Forest fire in Colorado, Arizona. Same year draught created severe dust storms in Colorado, Kansas. Since early 1960, snow line has gone up in various mountain ranges, duration of winter has shortened. In 2003, heat waves caused more than 20000 deaths across EU and more than 1500 in India.
In India, the seasonal timings of SUMMER, RAIN and WINTER have changed. The average summer temperature has increased to 1.5- 2° C.
Scientists have predicted that by 2030, most of the costal Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka will be submerged in water. A real alarming sign is that Arctic’s perennial polar ice cap is declining at the rate of 9 percent per decade.
Global Warming will Warmer sea surface temperatures will fuel more intense hurricanes in the southeastern Atlantic and Gulf coasts; we will face troublesome new pests and more mosquito-borne diseases, disruption of habitats such as coral reefs and alpine meadows could drive many plant and animal species to extinction.
POSSIBLE REMEDIES- It’s simple- by reducing pollution through each and every known way.
